Review:
Why Cheat India is more like Why Cheat Audience.
The film starts with a narration. There is a ton of narration in this film and still it fails to make things clear or explain half of the plot. But we will get back to that.
Emraan Hashmi aka Rocky begins the film by explaining the current situation in the Indian Education system and he finds the solution-- Satu the topper who will write the papers for him. Presenting Satu, Rocky's littler helper and Victim. That's it . Thats the story.

The film is filled with unnecessary characters, sub plots that are never explained, dialogues that make no sense, and unneeded secrecy to create thrill moments that never come.
Emraan Hashmi is not the only character in the film but he is the hero of the story, the bad guy of the story, the narrator of the story, and the only character in focus through out the movie without a miss.
I am going to really dive into details here. This is not spoiler free review. I will try not to give out the main spoiler but no promises.
One of the worse scenes in the movie is Emraan's entry, she just shows up on screen and then starts fighting with the bad guys like he is a 90's hero but worse. He literally does it to impress a kid (Satu) so that he can get closer to him later. (ya think about that for a moment.) It doesn't end here, the next morning he reaches at the kid's door step and takes him out for breakfast.
And they sit there chatting like they have been friends for years. (mind you they did not talk to each other in the theater) I dont know if Satu is stupid or the writer thinks we are.
Looking at the film's story from a writer's perspective, the entire movie is just a giant plot hole. Because it looks like they just clubbed in a bunch of story ideas together. A con-man, a flawed industry, a ex lover (Nupur) who wants revenge (I didn't make any promises.) and a bunch of extras filling the screen time.
The film's agenda at this is completely unclear. This is not satu's story for sure, it not Nupu's revenge story either, it is not about the education system being flawed since Emraan is taking full advantage of it but is not about Emraan either because they didn't take the time out to indulge into his back story, nor did the film help us feel for him.
The movie literally promotes everything bad and tries to justify it with random reasons that only show how selfish and inconsiderate these people are.

The film's background score is never compatible with the scene or the, it is more compatible to what Emraan Hashmi is thinking and it changes with his expression. There may be nothing serious going on in a scene but Hashmi will look at it as if its a crime and the music syncs in. ( and this is just the half of it)
So no, this is not something you would want to watch. But if you want to know what not to do or what is a bad film. GO FOR IT!
You may suffer with side effects like, heart burn, headaches, blurry vision, a epiphany, or sudden urge to do something good with your life.
Verdict: I get it now why CBFC asked them to change the film's name. They are literally asking the makers why are you cheating India by releasing this film.
* 1/2 star.
BONUS
The film has a song. One song properly placed (kinda) and its a rip off from Ashiqui 2, (Mein Phir Bhi Tumko Chahunga)
