A low caste boxer (Shravan) trains at a gym controlled by a local Don (Bhagwan Das Mishra). Shravan falls for Mishra's niece (Sunaina). The Don does not approve of this match. Shravan strives to win Sunaina's hand in marriage and become a successful boxer while trying to avoid retaliation from the Don.

Review:

Mukkabaaz directed by Anurag Kashyap talks about passion, love, revenge and society. Honestly, the movie the told the truth behind every story, the struggle is real. The movie talks, about love, then fight for love, you win her over, but it doesn't end there. There is much much more to see.

All the actors including other than the main 4 names have done their best. Especially the best friend. The concept of ever-so-loyal best friend seemed to be on the verge of extinction. But Mukkabaaz brings it back not like Heropanti, but in a realistic way. The music of the film, if not captures your attentions complements the story without disruptions. The tone and the rhythm go hand in hand.

Shravan (Vineet) who is one of the best boxers in the district waiting for his opportunity to play district level, losses the chance without knowing when he goes against the local gang leader, Bhagwan Das Mishra. And he does it all for love at first sight Sunaina. Even thought it might sound funny when you read it, the movie makes it look so normal, anyone could do it.

While he struggles against all odds, and wins her over their problems don't end there. That's just intermission.Though the movie felt a little long, it didn't make me want to leave. I was curious, the movie had showed me everything in a love story, what more could there be.

Sunaina being mute never seemed a problem in the movie or for the characters until, they get married and she asks for attention. She wants Shravan to learn the new Sign Language amist, his new job in the railway department and his regular training. The best part is they don't focus on one problem at a time, they bury Shravan under all of them.

If that wasn't enough, Bhagwan-ji kids out Sunaina's parents. Thats where the movie takes a typical turn, but in a refreshing way. Jimmy makes you flinch ever time he appears on the screen, then whether it is with his red crazy eyes on picking up a shovel to break his elder brother's knees.

When Sunaina is kidnapped his loses his mind like any lover would but soon comes back to sense when he sees the only way to bring her back is to become the champion and ask for help.

Ravi Kishan is the sweetest character and most respectable gentleman in the entire movie, and they show it within a span of 2-3 seconds numerous times. You do feel very bad given the way he is almost beaten to death.

Many must have expected the film's ending, it still left an a tremendous impact on the audience's mind. The film's dialogues are enough to keep you hooked since the start.

Verdict : A power-packed punch by the team on Mukkabaaz

If you haven't seen the film, you should wait for its digital release early. It is a fun watch with family and friends that you can enjoy more than once. It is as fun easy and lovely as Jab We Met.

There is a scene in the film where Shravan uncomfortable the fact that he cant understand English and as frustrated he is with his life, he can't help but yell at his friend for using the language. He forces him to use words like phone number and trace in Hindi making it hilarious moment.
