Review:

I have been following DBZ and DBS for years now, not long enough as some of you out there but few. And in these years I have reached a point where I just want something more.
The Broly movie is a recap filler episode with new animation. Its like watching previously on with different dialogues and outfits.
There is nothing the DBZ makers do that does not have a reasoning (most of the time) and I am hoping they had some actual reason for bringing these characters out for the upcoming arc.
There is nothing here that we weren't aware of or read before or hadn't seen before. Vegeta going SSJ God Red may be a shock to the anime followers.
There are a lot of things that the anime does not cover and the manga explains. For avid followers it is a must read.
The film starts on Planet Vegeta, few years before it is destroyed. We see Kakarrot, Vegeta and Broly as kids in their nursery pods and get a glimpse of them as kids. Years later, after Broly has been brought up with the idea of vengeance he meet Freiza, in current time.
Here we do find out about Freiza's plan and where the story could head. There are a few chuckle moments which really gets the laugh out. But since I watched it in dub I have a feeling the subs are going to be way different.

As for the animation, the makers follow the pattern the battle scenes are to die for but there are few ones here and there they look like they were drawn by kids. But its fine, the scenes that people actually come to see are epic.
They have also altered their color schemes, Broly's signature green isn't green, goku's cyan blue form takes a bit of royal in and also there are times where it is a hint of green in his form. New techniques to test the waters and see which ones work best. DBS had a tremendous development as compared to DBZ but there are others shows that use more evolved and intense techniques.
And DBS Borly makes good use of them.
Verdict: Even though it is a recap, it is good to see them all again, in better format.
