Review:

In all honesty this is a fun watch, I laughed and laughed and laughed, I definitely had a few questions, but Amar Kaushik promised a horror comedy and we actually got one. Its not like keep your logic back at home or fun because its so stupid but actually a great film.
The film starts with a quick intro to our main character the Ghost in this case 'Stree'. She walks through the village and reads the like 'O Stree Kal Aana' and moves to another house until she finds a house where the line isn't written or is unreadable.

Stree has all the classic traits of a horror film, has the one savior, the one who has all the knowledge, the one friend who falls prey, but it turns things around with the one who makes all the jokes because everyone is doing that here. The 127-minute long film takes you on a ride filled with amazing comic timing and surprises that keep you laughing hard until your face hurts.
The film is pretty serious with its direction background score and even the characters and story but brings out the best with it dialogues. The screenplay is simple and very basic like, pronouncing words like sexspeare, love at first eyesight.

The best parts of the movie are Atul Srivastava, Vicky's father giving him the talk, luckily he does not give him the birds and bees explanation but kinda an actual responsible one. Another one is Panjak Tripathi asking Abhishek Banerjee 'Teri Didi Kaha hai'.
Rajkummar Rao as Vicky is worshipped by his father and praised by people ever around his village for his talent as a tailor who can stitch an entire lenga in less than an hour. He plays Vicky as well as we have seen him mold into his other characters whereas Shraddha its pretty clear from the trailer is the ghost, more like Chudail. He character mostly in the supporting role who does whatever the screen demands at the time. Its pretty one dimensional, but she has toned out her bubbly-self to a creepy level which works out for Stree.

The first half of the film sets up and story and cracks you up and the second half of the film digs deeper into the horror part and still bring you to the edge of the seat screaming in laughter, until the last 5 minutes which kinda undoes all the magic and leaves you with a lot of questions but mainly, Why?
Verdict: Overall, definitely recommend this one time watch.
