This is a review and not a breakdown, so no spoilers today!
Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda, is a love-hate drama film with a twist. It's fairly clear from the trailer that the story is about Sattu and Aarti who are madly in love and are about to get married when Aarti runs away on the wedding day. There isn't much-hidden form the audience.

But the film is actually more than its story. It is about the characters and the actors that play these simple heart touching characters. Kriti Kharbanda the female lead protagonist carries the film smoothly and manages to portray a strong and vulnerable woman. But if you are a Rajkummar Rao fan, this is the movie you gotta add to your list. Rajkummar (Sattu) runs the show with his charismatic presence. You root for him as a small town clerk and you emotionally invest in him as the IAS officer in the second half of the film. He manages to make you fall in love with the simple and ideal to-be-Husband and then hate him for being a narcissistic jerk. Without diving into details, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana flows smoothly despite the time leap and keeps the audience engaged. The film experiences a small story glitch towards the end, perhaps the makers weren't sure how to bring Sattu and Arti back together. But all's well that ends well. Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is a simple love story where time helps bring our lovebirds back together. Ratnaa Sinha also manages to slip in the message of educating girl child and giving them equal treatment as sons. With a regular story and a great cast, the makers succeed to bring a surprisingly delightful film. Rating: 3 1/2 stars. ** 1/2 stars for the film and * for Rajkumar Rao.
Verdit: I dont know, I was just so happy to see Rajkummar and Kriti in the film. It is a one time must watch.
