Qarib Qarib Singlle directed by Tanuja Chandra starring Irrfan Khan, and South Actress Parvathy is a Slice of Life film. Irrfan and Parvathy, who have polar opposite personalities and sensibilities, meet via an online dating app. This encounter turns into much more when the two travel across the country.

Jaya a widow, who is pestered by her friend constantly about her forever alone lifestyle, takes a chance and decides to create her first ever dating app profile. She finds Yogi a self-published mid-aged poet who has a completely opposite personality to Jaya. She immediately takes to the man due to his corny jokes and relaxed lifestyle but plays it safe given the fact he is a stranger and was her first date in years.
Qarib Qarib Singlle is that kind of a film where you don't want think because everything on screen makes you laugh and keeps you happy. Since the first scene, the makers have successfully set the film's tone (mood) and continued to maintain it throughout without any mishaps. Tanuja Chandra has made a great use of breaking the 4th wall, every time Jaya feels the need to talk to herself the screen zooms in, and she talks to the audience.
The film does not have too many songs which works perfectly well with a film like this. The songs are situational that play in the background without having to pause the storyline.
The classic comic background music and relatable dialogues make the movie a laid back film that nobody could hate. Unless you are determined to hate it, then no one can help you.
Verdict: A laid-back Sunday mind detox watch for a fresh week ahead. I honestly loved it. Rating: *** stars.
