Plot: (wiki)
In an alternate present, humans live in uneasy peace with orcs, elves, centaurs, dwarves and other races after they fought for thousands of years. In Los Angeles, veteran LAPD police officer Daryl Ward has been involuntarily partnered with Nick Jakoby, the nation's first orcish police officer. Jakoby is ostracized by humans for his race, and by orcs for his position. In addition to the push-back from other officers, Ward is ambivalent towards him after an incident where Ward was shot and Jakoby apparently let the orc assailant get away. During a trip back to the station, an arrested Shield of Light devotee tells Jakoby (in Orcish) that both officers are in a prophecy and that Ward is blessed.

Review:
The movie starts with a memory of Daryl Ward (Will) getting shot because of Jakoby's absence. Jakboy who is the first orc to be partnered with a human receives backlash for being Orc as it is, but the two are now mocked for their awful partnership.
The movie focuses on their relationship for longer than expected and soon it starts to feel like another drama genre film.

Apart from all the time spent on their relationship they leave basic hints their current society, like Fairy lives don't matter, Orcs are society's trash and Elves are the kings and queens, while humans make the working class. Even though the dynamics are set in the first 10 minutes of the film there are many questions that go unanswered.
Jakboy and Daryl are stuck with each other in spite of the previous life threat and obvious trust issues between the two. The two answers a distress call and find themselves roped into a war between Elves and magic practitioners. This is where things go south for the story. Bright is a visual candy that tastes sour. With no information, backdrop or character justification new faces are dropped to amaze the viewers with wands, new rules, new villains and heavy action.

Bright could have turned out to be a very enjoyable watch if the story was a bit more organized rather than trying to fit in everything that is wrong with the society in the remaining 90 minutes. From corrupted copes to FBI agents to Mafia's everything has a relation to a social norm followed in our reality.
Don't even get me started on the oh so convenient plot changes. Tickka the friendly Elf falls only in to their hands, after numerous attacks till stays with them even though she has the wand and possible powers to bring her to a safe place, brings Jakboy back from Death, miracuously become weak that she cant even use it once again and in the end it turns out Daryl is a Bright too. First ever Human Bright. They all get something, No fight's between different races here, we want them all to be happy. Hopefully they will find tinker bell in their next movie too. Why leave them out!

Netflix after the film's release did share detailed information relating to so called Dark Lord and the people who practice magic..(believe me I cant even remember it..anymore) on their youtube channel.
Verdict: Bright is just a teaser to the expected bright franchise.
*** stars.
Honestly though I didn't enjoy it as much I wanted to, it left me confused and a little sleepy.
Hopefully it was all a dream Will Smith had because he is the Bright and we will have a better version of the story in the next movie.

Which part made the least sense to you, to me it was all a big mess. Would you watch Bright 2 that Netflix is probably working on right this minute while you are hate screaming at the first one. Would you? Let me know in the comments section below.
