DBS 127: Time's up

Arc: The Tournament of Power

Review:
Episode 127 is filled with amazing fight sequences and dialogues. Jiren finally powers up to his full potential, hopefully, and it forms an aura of literal fire around him.
Even after sustaining so many injuries and being reduced back to base form Vegeta gets up and goes royal blue within a second with no efforts and charges at Jiren. It leaves Goku and Android 17 no other option but to charge after him, giving them no time to figure out a plan. But that's how they work best so it works out fine for a few seconds.

Android 17 saves Vegeta from a serious punch and gets attacked by Jiren instead. That's where it becomes clear, he has made up his mind. If need be he will sacrifice himself, like Vegeta tried to in the previous episode.
After a landing few lucky punches and kicks, Jiren starts to get serious enough to cut through Goku's Kamehameha. 17 takes the opening and launches an attack and gets caught in. It can also be looked at as his attempt to check how much power he might needs in case he has to destroy Jiren with him during self-destruction.

They find a way to inflict some damage on Jiren but it fails when he takes their 3 signature moves head on and shows no injuries. But Vegeta and Goku get punched back to their base form.
When Jiren is preparing for a final blow, Freiza shows up for a cameo again and gets beaten to the pulp 3rd episode in a row now. It does give 17 a chance to get up on his feet and save the fighting Saiyans on the stage.

17 decides to face Jiren head on when the god of destruction Belmod asks him for his wish and gives a not so emotional backstory to Jiren's obsession with power. The tiny baby Jiren does look cute but not enough to develop an emotional connection to him.

In the process, he ends up self-destructing himself to save them from his attack. The worst part is it didn't even feel like anyone cared, nobody was affected by his death at all.

DBS has been amazing to watch but it not at par with the dragon ball Z. The way they expressed emotions in Z and showed their care and love for each other is nowhere to be found in Super. The animation is great but it doesn't even give us a chance to connect with the characters. There are obvious plot mishaps and their power levels make no sense anymore. Anyone can just power up whenever they want and at times they are super strong at the base form and super weak at the blue form.
They used a lot of time when the tournament started and they were fighting with weak contestants and now that the fight is supposed to mean something people started getting thrown off left and right. well, Frieza manages to hang on all the time. Its like they didn't even put thought into Jiren's backstory or his powers.
I love the show I just want it to be better. we are left with what ! 4 episodes and 3 minutes. That's not even close to the epic fights we have seen in dragon ball z.

Episode 128: Noble Pride to the end Vegeta Falls; has Vegeta inspired by visions of Bulma and fights Oh mighty Jiren in Base form!!
I don't know if they are doing it on purpose but Goku who drives the spirit to fight from his love and care for others hasn't even flinched at the thought of other universe being destroyed but Vegeta the pride prince is turned into a wuss who keeps thinking about his everyone around him.
They are supposed to show how vegeta has grown as a person, sure! don't chnage his personality though.
